Andy Boyce
Andy is a Strategy and Policy Manager at the UK Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC) and is responsibility for the UK contribution to the Synthetic Biology ERA-NET (ERASynBio). He manages the coordination of ERASynBio Work Packages on Mapping and Strategy and Data and Infrastructure, and leads tasks on joint funding calls and training and education. Outside of the ERA-NET, Andy has contributed to national and international Synthetic Biology policy development at BBSRC including the UK Synthetic Biology Roadmap.
Prior to his current role, Andy worked within the International Relations Unit at BBSRC. He was responsible for BBSRC's international collaborative schemes, coordinated BBSRC's interaction with South-east Asia and worked on collaborative initiatives with the EU, the US, Brazil, and Japan.
Andy joined BBSRC after completing a viral oncology PhD at the Birmingham Cancer Research UK Centre and undergraduate studies in medical sciences at the University of Leeds.
