A new book in Springer's "Ethics of Science and Technology Assessment" series deals with the societal and philosophical dimensions of synthetic biology:

The book documents the results of a summer school held in 2014 in Berlin, organized by the EA European Academy of Technology and Innovation Assessment, in co-operation with the Center for Literary and Cultural Research Berlin.

It includes very different perspectives on synbio from natural sciences as well as from philosophy and social and cultural sciences, and some SYNENERGENE researchers are among the contributors. An overview of the conternt can be found here.
