Karlsruhe-based ZKM - Center for Art and Media has opened a new exhibition as part of the GLOBALE programme. "Exo-Evolution", shown in two of the centre's "Atrium" halls, focuses on the artistic use of new technologies and opens up views into the future.

The exhibition features more than 100 artistic works to show how humans transcend evolution, creating an artificial "exo-evolution" through tools, external organs etc. Among the works presented are also a number of bioart objects from artists such as the Center for PostNatural History, Anna Dumitriu, Alexandra Daisy Ginsberg, Pinar Yoldas, C-LAB, and many others. The curators actively sought intersections (and interactions) of art and research, looking for the emergence of a "sort of Renaissance 2.0"
