Conference "Experimenting with new technologies in society"
The conference investigates the implications of viewing new technologies as a form of social experimentation. What does it mean to view new technologies as social experiments? How can such experiments be governed? How does the social experimentation paradigm relate to other approaches of future studies and technology assessment? And what are the conditions under which such social experiments are morally acceptable?
Confirmed keynote speakers include Christopher Ansell (UC Berkeley), Sheila Jasanoff (Harvard Kennedy School), Alfred Nordmann (Technische Universität Darmstadt) and Ibo van de Poel (Delft University of Technology).
The conference is open for a wide range of contributions to the social experimentation framework. Abstracts of paper presentations can be submitted before March 1st, 2015.
