BioEconomy Utrecht 2016, an action under the European Bioeconomy Strategy and Action Plan, is being organised under the auspices of the Dutch EU Presidency, co-organised by the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs and the European Commission.

The conference serves as an important input to the future orientation of the European Bioeconomy Strategy, which will be reviewed and evaluated in 2016 by the Commission. The organisers hope to develop a ‘Stakeholders’ Manifesto for the Bioeconomy in Europe’, based on the results of previous high-level events such as the SCAR Foresight Conference, the Bioeconomy Investment Summit and the Global Bioeconomy Summit.
