The Global Risks Report 2015 published by the World Economic Forum discusses several emerging technologies, namely synthetic biology, gene drives and artificial intelligence, with regard to their potential to cause significant negative impact. The report states that these technologies “are considered to have wide benefits and for which there is strong pressure for development, as well as high levels of concern about potential risks and safeguards.”
