The ZAK | Centre for Cultural and General Studies at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), city marketing Karlsruhe and the editor house Spektrum der Wissenschaft proudly present the first »Karlsruhe Science Film Days« during EFFEKTE, the Karlsruhe Science Festival. Screenings of and public discussions on science films of all kinds will be held on three nights. For the »Karlsruhe Science Film Days«, the Vienna BIO•FICTION-Festival will present winners and finalists of the festival’s last edition on July 1st at the State Museum of Natural History Karlsruhe. A night with 90 minutes filled with short films on advantages and disadvantages of Synthetic Biology, including animated films, documentaries and fiction. After the screening session, the audience can discuss chances and risks of Synbio with cultural philosopher Katherina T. Zakravsky (BIO•FICTION jury member), KIT-Synbio-Expert Christopher Coenen and video artist Sascha Pohflepp. (In German).
